HOW TO FIX BLURRY IMAGES IN PHOTOSHOP FOR SOCIAL MEDIA

Whenever you upload a new picture to your Twitter profile, remember to save your changes. If you dont, youll just see the old blurry photo and perhaps mistake it for the new, corrected photo. If your upload times out and never finishes, try the upload on a different device or use a different browser. Sometimes software conflicts can be at the root of the problem. Your photos should always be in JPEG, GIF or PNG formats to work on Twitter. New animated GIF files will be rejected from the system.

Upload Of A High Resolution Image

Firstly I tried this at very high resolution, 5000pxwide and 8MB the max Twitter will allow is 10MB.

That looked pretty good to me. Its cropped in a littlebut as it was a hi-res image, thats okay. You can see theres very littlevisible compression here.

I was pretty smug, until I hit save:

The compression happened after saving the good looking image. You can now see compression around the edges and an overall loss of sharpness

So what if we upload the same thing but after resizing toTwitters recommended 1500 x 500px?

Twitter Header Photo Blurry Heres The Fix

Happy New Year everyone! Now that the holidays are over, and after a week of being pretty much unplugged, I am plugging myself back in. That means I need to change all of my social media banners since they have been promoting my new Christmas releases over the past two months. I wanted something fresh to start the new year with and designed them last night. However, Twitter can be a tricky site for designers to deal with. I really wish they would put better instructions on their site because all they say is

    Header photo

And then this, if you dig a little deeper, which no one really doesIf you are using a header image with the recommended dimensions and notice that parts of it are being cropped, it is most likely because of the way these images are displayed on different monitor sizes and in different browsers .

The part about the 60 pixels is really helpful and I wish I saw that sooner because that is the problem that I have on my computer .

And while I was at it, I thought Id put together a little template guide that may be useful for you. Not only do the top 60 pixels of the banner get cut off on computer browsers, but the left 250 pixels and the right 250 pixels dont show up on mobile devices. So the best way to design your banners are to leave any important information out of those areas. Of course, this is not taking into account any of the areas where the profile image blocks the background, but it is what it is.

Tip : Make Sure Its Evergreen

How I Edit My Instagram Photos HOW To get BLURRY BACKGROUNDS on PHOTOS!!

While your Christmas vacation to the Alps may have resulted in a charming picture, save it for your feed. You want to keep your Instagram profile picture as evergreen as possible because using a holiday-themed or seasonal photo may lead new followers to think your account is inactive or that you dont regularly update it.

    Twitter Round Profile Image Size

Twitter switched from square to round profile picture in June 2017. The recommended dimensions are still 400×400 pixels.

While the profile image will appear at 400×400 pixels when clicked on desktop, any square or round shape of at least 400px square will work.

The aspect ratio for the Twitter avatar is 1:1. Maximum file size for profile photos is 2MB.

I recommend you keep your avatar consistent across all business social media accounts, and that you use a close-up photo of your face.

New Twitter List Banner Image Size

How To Fix Blurry Profile Picture On Whatsapp

Twitter rolled out a new feature starting late May 2020: the Twitter List cover photo, aka header or banner image.

Now Twitter will place a generic, monochromatic banner graphic in one of several vibrant colors. But you can go one better and add your own photo or branded graphic, making the list that much more enticing to be shared.

The specs for a List banner image are the same as a profile header image: 1500×500. When sizing the image, know that 60 pixels on the top and bottom could be cropped.

You will note that the top of the list header image will have the users cell phone data overlaid, so youll want to avoid having text or faces there.

To add a cover photo to your Twitter List, just tap the Edit List button, then tap the camera icon on the existing banner image.

If you dont upload a perfectly-sized image, you can crop it here. Tap Apply.

Then you can also crop the thumbnail for the little square that appears in list view. Tap Done, then Save.

    And youre done!

Why Is My Instagram Profile Photo Blurry

If your profile picture is coming out blurry and pixelated, there are several possible causes. The most common reason is that youre uploading a photo with a low resolution that is too small to use. Make sure youre following the dimension guidelines and uploading images in a JPEG format.

If youre not saving your photos in low resolution on purpose, you might want to check your iCloud settings. If you have the Optimize iPhone Storage setting enabled, your iPhone will automatically replace full-resolution photos and videos with smaller versions to save space on your Camera Roll.

Heres how to check that setting:

  • Open your Settings.
  • Apple ID > iCloud > Photos
  • Select Download and Keep Originals instead of Optimize Photo Storage.
  • Following those instructions should do the trick to keep you from accidentally uploading low-res photos. If you do want to keep the Optimize iPhone Storage setting on, you can always access the full-resolution versions of your photos on your iCloud.

As you can see, there are many unique ways you can use your profile picture to promote your page and accentuate your brand. We hope you found these tips helpful in growing your presence on Instagram.

Use The Right Size And Type Of Photo To Get The Best Results

Every social media account benefits from a profile picture, and Twitter is no different. The mood you create with it can set the tone for your entire feed. No matter how much quality information or witty repartee you send out into your social networks, first impressions are almost always visual. To that end, here’s how to create the right size image for Twitter so you don’t effectively sabotage yourself with a stretched and pixelated profile photo.

    How To Use Twitter Moments

The average lifespan of your tweeted images is a mere 18 minutes! But now you can save your best images and videos in Twitter Moments.

The Moment creates something like a slideshow that lives in your profiles Moments tab. Tap the 3 horizontal dots at top right to access an accounts Moments.

You can also share your Moment in a tweet anytime you like!

Twitter Moments you might want to create:

    • Your most popular tweets of the month or year.
    • Tips graphics by specific topics related to your business.
    • Testimonials from clients or customers.
    • Video, GIFs, images, infographics, and Tweets to share details of your product.

    What Is The Problem

The issue here is that released these new background images back in early summer of 2014. As you can see below it recommends I upload an image at 1584 x 396 pixels. And it must be under 8 MB . So I tried that and ya lets just say it turned out horrible.

Even after following other peoples recommendations such as this one: and uploading a high-resolution image at 2800 x 814 pixels it still turns out blurry. See below, you can tell in the mountains and sunset areas the horrible pixelation.

Here is that same image or rather how it should look.

Dont even think about uploading anything with text in it. At this point your best option is to use the blur tool in Photoshop and go for that effect on purpose.

Previous Twitter Size Info From My Readers

Why Is My Discord PFP Blurry? Discord Is Working on a Fix ...

I thank these readers for their help in solving the image size riddle!

    According to my reader Jeffrey:

To have images not crop on Twitter, you need an aspect ratio of 533:300 This means at 1066 the height should roughly be 600. Or as per your example, 1024×576 not 512. They keep changing the system, but at this moment, this is what works.

Tweeter @RobLathamUK pointed me to the Twitter Business Help page:

Image width/height: Minimum 600 x 335 pixels, although larger images will be better optimized for when users click to expand images.

    Aspect ratio: 16:9.

Image file size: Max 15mb on twitter.com and 3mb on ads.twitter.com.

File types: PNG, JPEG, or GIF. We do not accept BMP or TIFF files.

Yes! This is exactly what I found, too.

    And note their note:

Note: When using the same image across desktop and mobile, we recommend sticking to the mobile specs which will work across both. Selecting desktop specifications may result in cropping on mobile.

Since mobile devices vary widely in pixel display, theres not one perfect width. I always recommend bigger as better. Images look better scaled down than scaled up, when they could appear pixelated.

Im currently recommending 1200 pixels wide by 675 pixels tall for tweeted images. This shows in full in the tweet stream on mobile as well as desktop.

Its a bit taller than the Facebook link size of 1200 x 628, and the Twitter card size.

Or multiply your width times 0.562 to get the appropriate height.
