Check The Whatsapp Blue Ticks:
WhatsApps blue ticks are a method for revealing whether a message has received and read.
And the ticks are also a telltale clue revealing if you have been blocked.
One grey tick means the message has been sent, two grey ticks means the message has been received and two green ticks mean the message has been read.
Users who have been blocked on WhatsApp will only ever see one grey tick.
The is because, while a message may have been sent, WhatsApp will not deliver it to the contact.
Although on its own, this might mean that the user has lost their phone or cant connect to the Internet.
But in tandem with the first method, it also suggests you have probably been blocked.
How Do I Hide My Online Status

If you dont want some people to know when youre online but youre avoiding replying to a message, or you dont want to be disturbed, you can hide your status. That way, nobody will know when you were active.
1. Open WhatsApp.
2. Tap the three dots icon at the top-right corner.
3. Tap Settings.
4. Tap Account.
5. Tap Privacy.
6. Tap Last seen. Here you can choose who can see your online status: everyone, your contacts, or nobody. If you want to completely go incognito on WhatsApp, tap Nobody.
An important thing to keep in mind is that when you turn off your online status, you wont be able to see anyone elses either.
Additional privacy settings allow you to set the degree of exposure youre comfortable with. For example, you can choose who can see your profile photo, status, information or add you to group chats.

Sending The Person A Voice Note
One of the options available in WhatsApp is sending a voice message. There are two ways to check if the recipient has played your message.
Review the Checkmarks and the Microphone Icon
As with text messages, look at the checkmarks to establish if the persons read your message. However, just because someones read it doesnt mean they listened to it. Thats why you have the microphone icon on the left of your voice message.
- If the two checkmarks are blue and the microphone icon is grey, it means the recipient saw that you sent a voice message but hasnt played it yet.
- If the two checkmarks and the microphone icon are blue, it means the recipient saw and played your message.
However, theres a trick that can be used to play the voice messages without showing the blue microphone icon. Heres how:
Message Info
Looking at the message info is another way to establish if a person received, read, and played your message:
No Blue Check Marks: This Is How To Turn Them Off
If you don’t like it to have to answer directly because those two blue check marks say so, think about turning them off. Some blue checkmarks here and there can change social life drastically if ignored, because everyone can simply check if they have my full attention by comparing online status with read status. After the manufacturer got criticized they built in a way to turn this off.

Check To See Who’s Been Reading Your Messages
- Tweet
WhatsApp, the popular messaging service, allows you to track your messages using two colored check marks. These tell you when a message has been sent, received, and read at a glance. Plus, if you dig a little deeper you can get even more detail. Here’s how to use these check marks on WhatsApp.
What The Check Marks On Whatsapp Mean For Message Status
- One grey check mark means that your message has been sent from your device.
- Asecond grey check mark means that your message has been delivered, received on the recipients’ device, and isn’t just floating around on the network. If the recipient has read receipts turned on, two grey check marks indicate that the recipient has received but not yet read the message.
- When the two check marks turn blue, that means your message has been read by a recipient with read receipts turned on.

Blue Ticks On Whatsapp: What They Really Mean
It is a situation many of us have been in. You send an important message on WhatsApp and then eagerly wait for a reply.
One little tick appears to your message. Then two. Then nothing. Your heart sinks.
The important message has been ignored – or has it?
Up until now many users incorrectly thought the double check indicated a message had been seen.
Actually it meant that a message had been received by the handset, not its human owner.
However, WhatsApp’s official website has confirmed the messaging service has a new feature, so you’ll know when someone has definitely read your message.
We introduce to you, the double blue tick!
If a group of people are chatting, the two blue ticks will appear when everyone in the group has read the message.
Two grey check marks will show up when everyone has received the message.
You can also find out the time a message was delivered and read by pressing the message with the double tick – then holding it for a couple of seconds, before selecting “info”.
Other messaging services already have similar types of notifications to show when someone has seen a message, like Facebook.
In 2013, instant messaging apps like Apple’s iMessenger, WeChat and Viber overtook the traditional SMS text message for the first time.
Research company Informer found almost 19 billion messages were sent on chat apps in 2012, compared to 17.6 million texts.

Whatsapp Check Marks ~ What Do The Checks Mean On Whatsapp
Question: What do the ticks mean on whatsApp? What are these WhatsApp Check Marks?
I have had this same question from a couple of WhatsApp users who want to know more about these WhatsApp ticks. In order not to keep saying the same thing, I decided to create this post. Ill be looking at the 3 common symbols you find each time you send a message to someone or a group on WhatsApp
We have the WhatsApp clock, the WhatsApp double-check, WhatsApp Single Check.
Each time you message on WhatsApp, the message leaves your phone first to the WhatsApp server before getting delivered to the recipients phone.

Can I Turn Off The Ticks
There are two types of WhatsApp users. The first type adores this feature because they always know whats happening with their message. This gives us a certain level of control and it can reassure us that were not being ignored.
The other type doesnt care about ticks and might think that theyre a violation of privacy. Unfortunately, its not possible to turn off all ticks. Thats how WhatsApp works and you may have to choose another platform if you want to completely avoid them.
However, its possible to turn off the blue ticks. That way, the other person will know that the message is delivered to you but he wont know whether youve opened it or not. You can turn off blue ticks by entering Settings, then tapping on Account and then on Privacy.
In the Privacy section, youll see a sign that says Read Receipts. When you turn off that option, people will no longer be able to see whether youve read their message or not. Bear in mind that once you do this, you also wont be able to see whether other people have read your messages. Its a two-way street.
Of course, you can always turn blue ticks on again, if you wish to check whether someone has read your message.
However, when it comes to group chats, you wont be able to hide that youve read the message. The sender is always able to see the names of the people whove read their message. If youve sent a message to the group chat, blue ticks will appear only when all of the participants have opened your message.
Whatsapp Blue Check Marks Are Optional

While the Message Read notification introduced in late 2014 was happily received by many users, some people still think its an intrusion into privacy.
Luckily enough, there is an option to disable the blue ticks. Go to WhatsApp Menu and into Settings > Account -> Privacy
Uncheck the Read Receipts box

What Do Checkmarks Mean In Whatsapp
Posted on by Mel Hawthorne
When sending messages in WhatsApp, you may have noticed that your messages come with checkmarks attached to them and that they change over time. Those checkmarks give you some information about the status of your message.
When you first send your message, you will see a small clock symbol instead of those checkmarks. This status indicates that the message is being sent but hasnt departed your phone just yet. Now the status may change so quickly that you dont often see this state.
The next stage is one with a single checkmark. This means that your message has been sent, but not yet arrived at the other persons phone. Now, if a message doesnt send because of connectivity issues and your message has one checkmark already, the issue is not on your side, but on the recipients!
When your recipient receives the message, the checkmark will get a twin two grey checkmarks mean that the message has arrived on the other persons device. In group chats only, the second mark does not appear until everyone in the group has received the message.
The final stage is when the two checkmarks turn blue this means that the other party has opened and read your message. Of course, the mark is no indicator of whether or not they actually read the message, but it means that they opened the chat, at the very least.
What Is The Difference Between Single And Double Tick In Whatsapp
When message gets delivered to the receiver, the single tick icon turns into an overlapping double tick icon. WhatsApp tick marks convey important information about your message. Double tick indicates that your message has reach the receivers device this however does not mean that the receiver has read it.

With the new version of WhatsApp, ticks appear next to every message you send.
One grey tick means the message has been delivered to the server and two grey ticks mean the message has been delivered to the recipient’s phone.
When the two ticks are highlighted in blue, this means that the recipient has read your message.
If the message does not appear with any ticks and is instead a ‘”timer” image, this means the sender is in an area of low coverage.
