Gmail To Foxmail Setup:
For many years I have been using Outlook Professional 2007 seamlessly to log into my Gmail account on different versions of Windows . After MS support for the W7 ended, I purchased a refurbished Dell Optiplex 390 computer with W10 pre-installed. I installed Office Professional 2007 entirely from my hard drive, and all but one function is working as before. The exception is that Outlook doesnt send from Outbox. Gmail inbox works fine. Test messages sent in the settings section of the email account are sent perfectly. Any email that is created and sent with Outlook ends up in the Outbox and an error occurs. Tried a few fresh installations of Office, checked all POP and STMP settings and nothing was sent from Outlook and it got stuck in Outbox. Sending via Gmail is great as always, but it is difficult to receive emails via a web browser. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Which Protocol Is Better Pop3 Or Imap

Enable Pop3 And Imap In Gmail Account: Faqs

1. My emails are getting deleted from Gmail.
Ans: This problem usually occurs due to the incorrect POP setting. To fix it, go to the Forwarding and POP/IMAP settings page to check the settings of POP Download section. If any one of archive Gmails copy or delete Gmails copy options is selected, unselect it.

Ans: IMAP allows maximum 15 connections for one account. In case too many desktop emails are gathering messages from Gmail at the same time, this error might show up. To solve it, try to log out from some clients or devices.

Imap Vs Pop: What’s The Difference Which One Should You Use
What do POP and IMAP mean for your email, and how do you pick between them? Our POP vs. IMAP comparison will explain and help you decide.
When you set up an email client or app, you’ll come across the terms POP and IMAP. Do you know which one to choose, and why? If you aren’t sure what these terms stand for and how each affects your email account, don’t worry.
Below, we explain how these protocols work, the differences between POP and IMAP, and how to decide which one best fits your needs.
Its All About Storage And Privacy
The first reason you might want to use POP3 is if your main email account isnt connected to a major webmail service like Gmail or Outlook. Alternatives such as email accounts from Internet Service Providers or website hosting services often set limits on how much mail can be stored on their servers.
In those cases, its best to turn to POP3, so you can download your mail and wipe it off the server to stay under the storage quota.
Privacy is another reason to rely on POP3. In this post-Snowden era, many are uncomfortable with keeping personal data like email on a third-party server. Email sitting on a server you dont control is wide open to access by law enforcement with the right set of warrants.
Keeping your email on your devices, and off of third-party servers, means anyone who wants to look at your email has to come to you and not your email provider.
There are a few weaknesses to that argument, however, since intelligence agencies could still grab your email while it transits the Internet. Your mail provider may also have redundant backup copies of your email that wont get deleted right away, defeating the whole point of using POP3 for privacy concerns.
Sure, most of us are probably never going to be targets of a police investigation. But for most people these privacy concerns are really about the principle of the issue .

Use Pop Or Imap To Sync Aol Mail On A Third
Verizon.net email users – Read our help article for Verizon.net port and server settings.
You can use a third-party email app to download a copy of your AOL Mail email or to send and receive emails, if you’d prefer a different interface. There are two different protocols you can choose when setting up a third-party email app: POP or IMAP.
POP downloads a copy of your emails from your account to the app. This means that if you delete an email from your account after it’s been downloaded, the downloaded copy remains in the app. Additionally, POP only downloads emails from the Inbox , so to download all of your emails, you’d need to move email from existing folders to the Inbox.
IMAP, however, continually syncs the app and your account to keep the information in both places identical. This means that anything you do with messages or folders in your account at mail.aol.com will also occur in the app .
Below are the POP and IMAP server settings you’ll need to use for AOL Mail and links to common email app setup instructions. If you need specific help configuring your app, contact its manufacturer.
