My own Tailwind tribe is called Blogging & Social Media Marketing Pros, and you can join the tribe for free even if you are not a Tailwind member! Feel free to so that we can join forces!
The Art Of The Pin: When And How To Save Images
Heres a list of quick tips to get you started!
First five Pins each day are prioritized for distribution
Its also a good idea to save Pins regularly, rather than all at once. In other words, consistent, daily activity is much better than a once-a-week or once-a-day flurry of Pins.
By using a tool like , were able to schedule content out days, weeks, and even months in advance. This allows us to keep a consistent stream of Pins flowing to our boards without spamming our followers or missing out on positive Pinterest algorithm benefits.
Always include links
That means ensuring that your content includes a relevant link to the original source every single time even if the link does not lead to your own website.
*Note: Pinterest does not distribute Pins with broken links.
Lean into trends
Start saving Pins about upcoming trends, seasonal events, or holidays around 45 days in advance. Then keep adding more ideas daily and maintain a steady pace of content.
For example, Cristin Cooper // The Southern Style Guide shared a variety of birthday party themed Pins leading up to the summer season here in the United States:
Linking multiple Pins to the same destination
When doing so, just make sure to add specific descriptions for each Pin. This will greatly help to improve your SEO.
Save to the most relevant board first
In other words, make sure the Pin and board are a perfect match.

Create Attractive Pins Heres How
You do it once, and think you it was awesome, and then a short while later after learning a ton more and getting better, you realise how much you actually sucked.
This is one of my early pins
I mean!!! I didnt create this, it was from one of my past assistants. Its not her fault, after all a team member is only as good as their leader.
This had such a poor title what do people want? who is it for? the colours dont go together, and Im not even sure what the background image is meant to be of.
This is how my pins currently look.
My first pins totally sucked. Which is why they didnt get repinned. At all!
What Is Good Pin Design? And How To Find Good Pin Templates
To create an attractive pin, youre going to want to use a lot of white space, attractive fonts, and a colour scheme which stands out pink seems to be a favourite for text-based pins. You also need a call to action, and copy which makes people want to click through to read.
You can use templates from Creative Market for Pinterest, but I create my own over on Canva.
I found template pins dont really get pinned as much as unique pin designs do I guess theyre made to be a bit more generic as they look better to sell, but they dont work as well, in my experience.
Youll also want to use a beautiful stock photo to make the image stand out I use images from Pexels or Unsplash, and import them into Canva.
Good Pins Have Strong Titles And Copy!
Use descriptive words to make your pin copy stand out!
Join Tailwind To Pin 24/7
Ok, Ill admit, for so long I resisted using Tailwind. Because I actually really, really like pinning manually! I love discovering new things, recipes, links, bloggers, etc.
But I am also a big fan of automating as much as I can in my business, and I quickly realised I could be using those pockets of time for something other than pinning.
Plus, I knew that my previous assistant had been using Tailwind to pin for us, and I had a feeling that this was the main way we had been generating views and follows.
The Best Part Of Tailwind? Tailwind Tribes
And the third reason was because Tailwind offered tribes .
Tailwind Update 2020
Tailwind Tribes makes it easy to join group boards and get my content found .
You simply search for tribe topics you might be interested in and then click join.
Each tribe has rules so youll want to read these first to make sure your pins are found and youre not removed from the group, but other than that I found tribes really easy to join and my traffic started to show results as soon as I started to use them.
Tailwind took me a little while to get my head around. It looks confusing when you first land on there. But the best thing you can do is visit Tailwind tribes. Its simple to use and you can practically ignore everything else Tailwind does when yourre just getting started.
To be honest I was really reluctant to use Tailwind. I hate saying it even! As it seems like every blogger is saying use Tailwind!
Maybe it really is actually good!
