Uploading Ssl Certificates To Iam

How to add a certification with LinkedIn ?

I have 4 certificates which i received from CA :

Root CA Certificate – 123.crt

I have generated circuit.pem-private key and csr.pem through which I got these certificates.

Now, i want to upload these certificates to IAM using

    aws iam upload-server-certificate --server-certificate-name certificate_object_name --certificate-body file://public_key_certificate_file --private-key file://privatekey.pem --certificate-chain file://certificate_chain_file

But I am not able to gauge which is my server certificate and how can I upload my all certificates.

Please help me with the above command for my above certificates.

I tried :

    aws iam upload-server-certificate --server-certificate-name MyServerCertificate --certificate-body file://www_advisorcircuit_com.crt --private-key file://circuit.pem --certificate-chain file://COMODORSAAddTrustCA.crt

I am getting this error:

A client error occurred when calling the UploadServerCertificate operation: The security token included in the request is invalid.

I have to say, getting this to work was a huge pain in the ass. Basically you are missing the user configuration details. You have to create a user on Amazon using the IAM service here . Pay attention to what your region is in the url, you’ll need that later. So create a user, attach a policy , “Create Access Key”, download credentials for the user and use them to run:

openssl rsa -in my_key.key -text > new_key.pem

I got this problem many times. Here is how I solved it.

How To Become Aws Certified Developer In 2022

I have been focusing a lot on Cloud, Machine Learning, and Big Data since last year and reading a lot about associate-level AWS certifications like solution architect, cloud developer, and sysops administrator.

I was also helping a couple of my readers with their AWS, Azure, and certification journey and I am happy that many of them have succeeded in their first attempt and now I am sharing the same blueprint with you guys.

This is a tried and tested blueprint by myself and many of my friends and readers. I have followed this blueprint to get different Oracle, Java, Spring Professional, SQL Server, Data Science, and AWS certifications.

This blueprint will help you to get success in not just AWS certification but also in any IT certification, all you need to do is pick the right resources for each section.

How Do I Add A Badge To My Linkedin Profile

Adding Certificate to LinkedIn Profile

This post refers to Linkedin “Add to profile” button after March 2017, when Linkedin closed the possibility for other platform to automatically send certification data.

Open Badges can easily be added to one’s LinkedIn profile as certifications.

If the Badge is added to the LinkedIn profile through the proper “Add to profile” button available on Bestr’s award page, the LinkedIn certification will include a link towards the award page, showing how the Badge is assigned to the learner, with name surname and assignment date. This makes it much more trustful than a simple manually added certification, which cannot provide any immediate proof.

Here is a step by step guide.

Miscellaneous Things About The Exam

  • You can take the exam online using your own computer at home through PearsonVUE. You will be asked to test your computer and network, and you need to do this once before the exam day as well as once right before the exam. You will need to take pictures of your ID and your room from 4 directions. On the exam day, the proctor will chat with you through chatbox and audio during the check-in phase.
  • Exam check-in wont happen until 30 minutes before the scheduled exam time, and the exam will only start up to 15 minutes earlier than the scheduled time. So dont bother logging in to the system too early I had to sit in front of my laptop, and couldnt do anything for over 20 minutes!
  • You wont know your score right after the exam, but the screen will tell you if you passed it or not immediately after completion. It says it can take up to 5 business days, but from my experience, it was only about 12 hours and I received an email saying my score is available.

A simple rule to follow is to write your city and country name if you are looking for a job in another country and if you are looking for a job in your country of residence, mention your city and state name.

The fastest and most effective way is to take an online exam prep course. These courses are well-structured and cover the right amount of depth for getting the lay of the AWS landscape without the risk of studying unnecessary topics.

There are many online course options and you can get them at very cheap prices or for free with a trial period. I recommend Linux Academy, A Cloud Guru, and Udemy. Just make sure the course has at least 15 hours of content and lab demos.

Hands-on experience is very important for all AWS exams!

During your study, focus on these areas below and do hands-on exercises on the AWS website. Make sure you internalize every step. Drawing diagrams is a very good way to study the services.

There is no overstudy for these areas: IAM, EC2, S3, Pricing, and Support.

Draw your own diagrams for network services: VPC, subnet, routing tables, NACL, internet gateway, NAT gateway, Route53, ELB, CloudFront, etc.

When answering, highlight your problem-solving and attention to detail by providing examples of how you may perform this process and avoid security risks through the AWS infrastructure.

Example:”Many best practices that I use as a guideline include controlling and limiting access to AWS resources through identity and access management protocols. I achieve this by regularly analyzing the protocols set in my security groups and open permissions only based on these requirements. Another best practice is to disable password-based login capability to ensure that, even if a password were to be compromised, access to the server based on just passwords is futile.”

Tips To Pass Aws Developer Certification In 2022

How to add certificate on your LinkedIn profile/Link and Featured certificate

Now that you know how to prepare for AWS Developer certification and become a certified AWS developer and also have access to best book, courses, and practice test, it’s time for some practical tips which you can use to not only accelerate your preparation but also avoid silly mistakes in the exam and pass the exam in your first attempt.

    1. Passing marks for the AWS Certified Developer Associate certification exam varies daily. It could be 60% or 72% or even more but you should always prepare for 75% to pass the exam on the very first attempt.

    2. How much time do you need to prepare for the AWS Developer Associate exam? Well, preparation time mostly depends on experience level. If you have some AWS experience under your belt then 2-3 weeks of preparation is enough but if you are a complete beginner to AWS then 4 to 6 weeks is a reasonable time.

    3. Hands-on lab exercises are a must if you don’t want to become a paper-certified AWS developer or solution architect. All the things you will learn and earn via certification also need a backup of hands-on experience.

It’s even more important for people who are not actively working in AWS as part of their day job. In short, get a free AWS account open and try to break things, and learn how to fix them.

Mock tests and practice questions also help to solidify your knowledge and highlight gaps in your learning. For example, you can use them to find your strong and weak areas and then cover them better before the real exam.

    Types Of Aws Certification Training

Moving from an on-premise operation to a more cloud-focused approach means that the tech community needs more people. Going from on-premise to the cloud changes things and we need people there to make that change happen.

There are three main ways to build your knowledge base on all things AWS, namely:

Set Up A Load Balancer With Your New Certificate

Once the certificate is made, its ready to be installed into a Load Balancer. AWS Load Balancers work like proxies with multiple endpoints, able to forward traffic from one public IP address to many private IP addresses, and balance the load between them.

We will set one up to listen on the public HTTPS port 443, and forward traffic to port 443 on your web server. The web server port can be different, like port 8080, since the connection between load balancer and web server is internal, but were assuming your web server already has port 443 open. If not, youll need to open it from your EC2 instances security rules.

From the EC2 Management Console, scroll down the sidebar to find Load Balancers and click Create Load Balancer.

There are a few types of Load Balancer that work at different levels, but for simplicity well choose Application Load Balancer, which balances basic HTTP and HTTPS.

From the options, give it an internal name, and add an HTTPS listener. It should default to port 443, the standard for HTTPS.

Click next to go to Register Targets, and enter the private IP address of your EC2 instance, which you can find from the EC2 Management Console. If you entered them correctly, the interface should show the instance ID and the zone its in.

Youll want to replace your existing IP your domain name with this address, so that visitors will be pointed towards your Load Balancer, which will secure the connection and point them towards your EC2 web server .
