How To Teach On Linkedin Learning

What Are The Classes Like

LinkedIn Tutorial For Beginners – How to Use LinkedIn In 2021 (10 EASY Tips!)

LinkedIn Learning’s new material, meaning the videos produced well after it was no longer called, largely comes across as a glorified slideshow presentation. It’s especially true for the Business content. The videos have about as much personality as any boardroom PowerPoint presentation. The videos cut between a presenter, who speaks slowly and clearly and slides. Some of the slides are animated. Some have text. Some look more like traditional cutaways, featuring video b-roll or photo stills. Even though the production values are high, they come off as business-grade slideshows.

The content can still be exceptional under these circumstances. A course on plain language writing, for example, offered clear explanations for why people should write using plain language, as well as tips on how to do it. The whole presentation, however, was packaged to look so corporate that it sucked all the personality out of the presenter.

Or consider a Skillshare course with Mary Karr on memoir writing. She may say “um” and “you know” once or twice, or look away from the camera as she pulls words together, but her authenticity leaves an impression.

LinkedIn Learning’s coding lessons lack the helpful interactivity of services like Treehouse or Codecademy, our Editors’ Choice picks for paid and free learn-to-code courses, respectively. They make up for it, however, with a much greater breadth and depth of content beyond coding for a similar monthly price.

Contact And Connect With Other Linkedin Users

LinkedIn enables you to network with people and professional organizations in your industry. This is a great way to stay up to date with the latest developments, and to share information with others in your field.

You can invite anyone to connect , but they must have their own LinkedIn account to use the site.

LinkedIn saves the connections that you make to a list called My Network. When you make a new connection, you gain access not only to that person’s profile, but to their publicly available connections, too. These become your “second-degree connections.” This opens up even more networking opportunities , as you can then invite them to connect directly with you.

You can also introduce any two LinkedIn connections who haven’t yet connected to one another, but who might benefit from doing so.

The number of connections that you have affects your search ranking on LinkedIn. It’s a good idea to aim for at least 50 “first-degree” connections.

Be careful when you ask for, or make, an introduction, and do so only if you believe that both parties can benefit. Always be mindful of what you say about your organization.

And finally, remember that honesty is the best policy avoid overselling yourself, and don’t embroider the facts when you discuss your achievements!

How To Use LinkedIn For Beginners – 7 LinkedIn Profile Tips

LinkedIn Learning has several courses and video features that are incredibly beneficial for all subscribers.

One is the certificate of completion feature. Every course, regardless of the category or your own skill level, comes with a certificate of completion at the end. This is a great way to showcase to prospective employers that you really know your stuff.

Youll also be able to access things like exercise files, notes, and assessments. Exercise files are perfect for helping you gain mastery of a subject, as youll be able to practice the skills taught in the class in a more hands-on way. Notes are beneficial because you can take digital notes as you move along in a course so that you can reference them later on.

Assessments are beneficial because you can take these at the end of each individual section in the course. Youll know exactly when its time to move on to a new module based on what youve accomplished so far.

Youll also have access to learning paths and saved courses. Learning paths are unique to LinkedIn Learning and will allow you to take classes in a certain progression if you want to gain mastery of a certain larger topic. You can also save courses and return to them later on so that you dont lose track of what you wanted to do.

Similarly, LinkedIn Learning has a helpful Q& A section where you can ask questions of fellow students and the instructor. This is a great way to learn more about a topic or to clear up any areas of confusion that you might have.

    Write A Good Profile Summary

Your is a chance to put your best foot forward, especially if you are interested in new job opportunities. LinkedIn has a character limit for this section, and you want to make the most of it.

The company recommends writing three to five short paragraphs and leaving plenty of white space, so readers’ eyes don’t glaze over when they land on your page.

The company also suggests using short, tight sentences, avoiding jargon, writing in the first person, and using keywords.

Don’t be afraid to inject some of your personality into your profile summary to make it memorable, but steer clear of anything that seems too unprofessional or could be controversial. Finally, make sure you proofread this section carefully, as you would a cover letter for a job application. Typos and sloppy writing will send the wrong signal.

LinkedIn can increase the visibility of your business, your company brand , and your products. It can tell your company story , too. Do it right, and you can create valuable emotional connections with your potential customers and employees.

LinkedIn can benefit your organization in other ways, too. You can use the site to research your competition, potential partners, and new suppliers , for example. And the paid account, Sales Navigator, also allows you to reach out to likely prospects, and to keep track of key personnel changes in your industry.
