To enable access for less secure apps:

  • Go to Google Account and log in with your email address and password.
  • Scroll down until you see the Less secure app access section.
  • Import A Calendar From Google Calendar

  • Log in to your Google Calendar account.

  • In the left column, click My calendars to expand it, click the arrow button next to the calendar that you want to import into Outlook, and then click Calendar Settings.

  • Under Private Address, click ICAL.

  • In the Calendar Address dialog box, click the web address of the calendar.

  • When prompted, click Open to import the calendar into Outlook.

  • The calendar opens in side-by-side view in the Outlook Calendar. Its also added to the Navigation Pane in Calendar view, under Other Calendars.

    Note: The imported calendar is a static snapshot. To update it, you need to subscribe to it or repeat this procedure to import a copy of the most current version of your calendar in Google Calendar.

    • If you’ve previously added a Gmail account to Outlook for Microsoft 365, you may receive a prompt to update your password.

    These steps are the same whether you’re adding your first Gmail account or additional Gmail accounts to Outlook.

  • Select File> Add Account.

  • Enter your email address and click Connect.

  • Outlook will launch a Gmail window that asks for your password. Enter the password and select Sign in.

    Important: Once you connect your Gmail account to Outlook, you may receive a warning message in your Gmail inbox telling you that a new logon from Internet Explorer was detected. This is expected behavior.

  • If you have previously enabled 2-factor authentication for Gmail, you’ll be prompted to enter the code sent to your mobile device. If you haven’t enabled 2-factor authentication, skip to step 6.

  • The Google account permissions window appears. Click Allow.

  • Once Outlook finishes adding your Gmail account, you can add another email account or select Done.

    Modifying An Existing Account

  • If youâre editing an email account that already has been configured in Outlook, click on the account name and then click on the Change button. Otherwise, skip ahead to Step #5: Configure General Settings.
