Make A Subscription Box
A subscription business provides customers with products on a recurring basis. The subscription ecommerce market is expected to reach $478 billion by 2025, with more customers taking advantage of it each year. Research from McKinsey found that 15% of US consumers have signed up for one or more subscriptions to receive products regularly.
The benefits of creating a subscription box include:
- Predictable revenue. Businesses know how much money is coming in each month and can plan growth initiatives accordingly.
- More cash on hand. Subscription businesses ask for full payment upfront at a discounted price, which creates regular cash flow.
- Lower customer acquisition costs. Customers pay you on a regular basis, so you dont need to convince them to make additional one-time purchases in your store.
Running a subscription business from home is a proven winner. Our research shows that 63% of founders who sold subscriptions were satisfied with business performance, compared to 55% of founders who did not sell subscriptions.
Two types of subscription businesses we found thrived in the past year were:
- Replenishment model, where subscribers receive the same or similar products each cycle. An example of this would be grooming brand Harrys. A customer purchases the Harrys starter set, containing a handle, shaving gel, and razor cartridges. They then receive automatic gel and blade refills monthly, based on their usage and preferences.
Leverage Twitter Influencers And Creators
Partnering with creators on Twitter can often be overlooked but adding Twitter to your influencer marketing strategy is worth considering.
While some influencers may not have as big of a following on Twitter as they do elsewhere, many still use the platform to build engaged communities. And you can use that to your advantage!
Take fashion influencer Sofi . With over 200K followers on both and , brands who only collaborate with her on Instagram miss out on the potential to reach a different community on Twitter.
Case in point: her Tweet about a Fashion Nova set got over 80K views thats a lot of potential new customers.

Build Your Email List
Lastly, and likely most importantly, you can use Twitter to build your email list.
“Your email list is like digital gold.”
The most valuable digital possession is likely your email list.
- Email is personal and one-on-one
- You build relationships with potential customers
- Youre becoming personal because youre in someones inbox
- Youll likely reach more people, because more people use email
- Your audience wants to hear from you, because they signed up voluntarily
As you can see, to sell and truly promote yourself, you need to start building a solid email list.
Ill reveal a personal secret of mine here:
I built my email list by following the strategies mentioned in the Create 24/7 course through the art of writing threads.
When done right, you can gain massive exposure with threads.
The downside is that threads can take a long time and sometimes its just a matter of timing.
You could have the best written, most well-thought-out thread but it might not do well, because you just werent lucky on that day.
Its happened to me before too, I worked probably 2 to 3 hours on a thread, sent it out, and it just tanked.
Thats life you win and you lose a little.
Heres a glimpse of one of my threads:
This thread did mediocre its certainly not viral.
But, by carefully implementing the strategies from Create 24/7, this thread helped me gain over 90 email subscribers in 1 day
How did I manage to gain 90+ email subscribers in 1 day?
And you know what?

Use Data To Find Your Niche
Like business owners, authors need to pick a topic that they’ll be interested in for the long haul. One-hit wonders in self-publishing are very rare, so if you plan on writing six or more books in the same niche, then it needs to be something you care about.
I started out with books for writers. Through the numbers, I noticed that many of my readers were students. So I made a slight pivot to writing for students. When I noticed I wasn’t as passionate about students as I was about adult writers, I made another small pivot into self-published authors the perfect combination of the two demographics.
Having a niche is vital, but you need to let that niche evolve as the data comes in. The first niche you try won’t always be your successful one. But the lessons you learn from those first books can pay dividends later on.
My biggest piece of advice for others looking to self-publish is to rely on the data. Check your numbers to see what readers want. Then, create books and products that align.
