Invited To Someone Elses Secret Board Your Activity Might Not Stay Secret
If you accept an invitation to join a secret group board, the creator of the secret board can make the board visible to everyone at any time, and does not need permission from other collaborators to do so.
If the boards creator changes the secret setting of the board to visible, all the collaborators will receive an email notification.
What happens when a secret group board is made visible to everyone?
- All the board collaborators become visible to everyone
- Everyones pins and comments on the board also become visible.
- The board and its pins now become visible to everyone on each of the board collaborators profiles.
- People who selected Follow All on any of the collaborators profiles will be added as followers to the newly visible board.
- Previously existing pins will become visible in Search results, and will be interactive just like regular pins.
What I Look For In Your Account
Obviously, everyone will be looking for different things before accepting someone in their group board, and it is at their own discretion to invite you or not. These are the things I generally look for, so keeping them in mind will increase your success of being invited to boards.
- Have your account in order, with your website link, profile pic, description, relevant boards on your topic with clear board names, and quality pins.
- If you are pinning on too many varied subjects, then I don’t feel you are the right fit, as I want people in a similar industry who are focussed on the topic. Obviously, a few boards on different topics are fine, but I want to see your primary focus is in line with the subject.
- Pin quality pins and curate your feed. Your personal feed and curation is an indication to me of the kind of content you would be sharing on my board.
- If you are quite new with a low following, be sure your account is well filled out and quality curated pins. I am more interested in what you content you can offer then follower count or views.
- Be sure your style compliments the board you are applying for. Sometimes people have good, on topic accounts, but their style is too different that I don’t feel it will complement the board well.
What Happens When You Make A Secret Board Visible To Everyone
- People who have selected Follow All on your account will now be added as followers to your newly visible board.
- People will now be able to see your board on your profile and follow it like they can do any other board.
- All of the pins on the board will become visible to everyone and can be liked, repinned, and commented on by all other users. All of the comments on the board will also become visible to everyone.

How To Get People To Accept Invitations And Join Your Boards
If you just invite people out of the blue very few might accept your invitation. So here is a simple tip on how to get more people to accept your invitation and to start pinning onto your boards.
The easiest way to get people to accept your invitation is by simply asking them. Before you send a board invitation, send them an email. In the email let the person know you like what they share and then give them a little information about your profile/brand page and inform them that you would like them to be a part of it by becoming a guest pinner.

You share some great pins on Wonderland. You seem to know a lot about it. I really like your profile. My followers enjoy looking at pins on wonderland. If you dont have their email address, just send them a tweet. You can easily locate users accounts on their Pinterest profiles and brand pages.
You could also ask them to just DM you their email address and then send them a more detailed message.
This way of sending personalized messages and then inviting them, will help you convince more people to join your board.

Add notes to the Pins in your group board for your collaborators to see. You can also with a star, then filter your group board to see your and your collaborators favorite Pins.
Design A Moodboard In Canva
