This is especially useful for companies with niche products or those that supply B2B services given the professional focus of the LinkedIn platform, the quality of connections often outpaces that of other social networks, making these contacts a valuable resource in expanding market efforts.
Highlight Your Experience In The Summary
The Summary section of your LinkedIn profile is a great way to highlight what makes you unique and indispensable to your industry.
Don’t forget the headline, since it is right at the top of the page when someone views your profile. If applicable, it is appropriate to mention key professional certifications, bilingual skills, or key accomplishments. The more robust your profile, the more you likely you are to get notice. Select an industry, because recruiters often use that field to search.

Your Profile Is Your Best First Impression
LinkedIn has a massive number of members. Thats the best thing, and potentially the worst. In the professional worlds largest crowd, your profile must stand out. So, what helps make an outstanding profile?
- Your profile photo should be clear and professional. You can use your background photo to illustrate an interest or passion, especially if its led to personal success or is tied to your career interest.
- Your profile headline just below your photo doesn’t need to be a repeat of your current job title: thats already in your experience section Instead, you may want to use the headline to say something unique that would appeal to an employer. Instead of Sales Representative, you could use: Sales Grower.
- Work experience should be limited to 15 years anything longer really isn’t relevant. Besides, it ages you. Fill out the description, including quick bullets of responsibilities with quantifiable success, whenever possible. For instance, instead of, Grew client engagement, write, Achieved organic client growth of 20%.
- You should add all skills that are relevant to your field. Use your network to gain endorsements. If you need a boost, endorse your contacts first. They will nearly always endorse you back.
- For recommendations, you need to reach out to close contacts ones you have worked with successfully.
Craft An Interesting Summary

Your LinkedIn summary gives you the opportunity to tell your story. Your summary can be a longer form of your headline here you have 2,000 characters to work with so you can dive in a little deeper. Don’t just focus on your past experience but on what you do well and what you can bring to a prospective employer. Keep in mind that keywords are crucial here use words that you want to be strongly connected to in your field.
Attention spans are short these days, so don’t use up all of those 2,000 characters. Instead, keep it to less than half of that. Be creative and paint a picture of who you really are as a professional.
Here’s a LinkedIn summary example that we love from our article, :

Be The Only Person In The Picture
This is another obvious tip, but its worth mentioning nonetheless.
Maybe youd love to show your collaborative nature and that you love your team and colleagues. Or possibly you want to show your business partner or a picture of you shaking hands with a famous influencer from the business world.
No matter the case, its always better to be the only person in the picture to get the most out of your LinkedIn profile picture.
You should leave candidates no doubt as to what you look like.
Choose a solo photo for your profile picture and if you want to include a team picture anyway, you can use it for your banner picture instead. In fact, that might work better.
Though you can crop yourself out from a group photo, someone elses hand or shoulder might get into the frame anyway.
So, its much safer to simply be the only person in your LinkedIn profile picture.
Choose A Professional Profile Pictureor Take A New One

Gone are the days of needing a professional headshot for your profile image, Yurovsky says. Now, your iPhone or Android has a high-enough resolution camera to ensure your picture is clear and crisp. But just because you dont need an image taken by a professional, doesnt mean your picture shouldnt be professional. You should be appropriately dressed and not at a party or a wedding. Dont use any image where you have to crop other people out.
If you need a new picture, dont overcomplicate it: Get in front of a blank wall and take a picture, Dunay says. You should be smiling and facing a natural light source . Look at the camera. If the person who finds your profile cant see your eyes its hard to connect beyond the screen, Yurovsky says. Finally, according to LinkedIn, you should aim for your face to take up about 60% of the image once its cropped.

Combine Google And Linkedin To Find Their Email
If youre not a first, second, or third-degree connection to someones LinkedIn profile, you probably wont be able to get their emails from LinkedIn. However, you can still uncover their email address. You can do this by combining Google Search with some basic information you can find on LinkedIn. The persons name and the name of the company they work at is all you need.
First, use the name of the company to find its website. This shouldnt be too hard, just search on Google.
Now that you have the company website, search for the individuals name, plus the domain name. Do it in the style of an email address. For the example, in the image above, this is what the search might look like:
You can also try using the site search command to search the company website. Add site:thedailybeast.com to the search. Heres how it might look for the examples above:
Once you find a convincing result, run the email through a verifier, just to make sure its legitimate.
This is a good method you can try if all others come up short, but dont expect it to work for every individual. Not everyone has their email address listed openly on the internet.
