How To Embed Pinterest Board

Don't Miss

How To Create The Widget

How to Embed a Pinterest Board in my WordPress Website

Creating your Widget is easy to set up. There is one widget for all boards and pins!

To create your widget, please follow the steps below:

  • Log in to your Create account
  • Name your widget
  • In the “Page URL:” field, copy and paste the full URL of the Pinterest user profile, board or individual pin that you would like to display
  • You can then insert your user profile, board or individual pin on to any page of your website by following the steps below:

  • Click the +Add Block button

  • From the Add Block filters, select the Custom filter in the ‘Blocks that include…’ category

  • You can then drag and drop the Custom content block you want, onto the desired place on the page.

  • Once the Custom Element block has been added to the page, you can click the + icon and use the drop-down menu to select what content you would like to add to the page.

Youll see you can select content including Widgets, HTML Fragments and Custom Forms, as well as combinations of other blocks such as Buttons, Headers, Images, Videos, Maps and Text.

A placeholder icon will be added to the page and if you click the Settings icon, you can specify exactly which widget or HTML fragment for example, you would like to use. Click Done and then save your changes.

Below are some great examples of how a Pin, Profile and Board will look on your website.

    Use The Follow Button Widget

The follow button widget is a very simple button, similar to the follow button for Facebook or the button for Twitter with the same purpose. Its just a small button with the Pinterest logo and name. You can link it to your Pinterest account and customize the text if you want, to a maximum of 18 characters. Once you customize it, you can copy the code and put it anywhere on your page. Again, remember to have the pinit.js code on your page as well.

Personally I dont like this option much. Its a tiny button and it doesnt mesh with pretty much any site design. You cant customize the size, colors, or formatting of the button without digging into custom CSS, and at that point you might as well just use a third party toolbar.

    Use The Profile Widget

The fifth and final widget Pinterest offers is similar to the board widget, except its for full profiles instead of individual boards. You can embed your profile and it will show everything you post, regardless of what board its posted on. This is crucially different than the board feed, because it only shows the content you post, as opposed to everything in the board. Boards can save posts you make as well as posts you save, so it isnt wholly your content. The profile version is just your content.

Like the board widget, this one offers the same selection of sizes. Again, using it for an in-content embed, a footer, or a sidebar can all be done with different size settings, and you can customize it for the specific size of the space you have available.

Copy The Html Code Of A Pin

First things first, you need to go to and find your favourite pin. Got there? Cool.

On the Pin that you want to embed in Notion, make sure to hit the three-dot icon.

Upon hitting the three-dot icon, you should see a few options. The one that you care most about is “Get Pin embed code”.

You should now see a pop-up with the code to embed the Pin on your website. Make sure to fully copy the code!

    Your Board Should Be Embedded

How to Embed Pinterest Pins That Won

Simple enough. One issue that you might run into is after you past the embed code into the Text tab of WordPress, and go back to the Visual tab, your Pins or Boards might not show up. Im not 100% sure why this happens, but it does. In that case, just paste the embed code back into your post, and publish your post/page from there and dont switch back to the Visual tab.

Embedding pins and boards into your content is a great way to add visuals to your site and integrate social media into blog posts or pages.

One way that I integrated embedded Pinterest boards into an article that will be published on another site soon, is by doing a post. I embedded all of the boards into the article, so people will be able to see whats on them and follow them with ease. Once the post goes live, Im going to reach out to the people who own the Pinterest boards I listed to let them know about my piece, and hopefully theyll share it with their audience. Feel free to steal my idea!

    Use The Save Button Widget

Pinterest has a widget builder you can find here. There are five different options you can use here, and Ill go through each one of them in turn.

The Save Button widget is a simple button that, when clicked, will save the blog post or image to the users pin board. This was formerly the pin it button, but has been changed since Pinterest decided to remove the pin verbiage and change it to saving. This makes them a little less unique and a little more like Pocket in my opinion, but hey, what do I know. Im not on the internal board of Pinterest directors, I dont know what drove them to make the decision. Maybe they have a good reason.

To make the button, you need to use the first option on the widget builder. You can set it to appear over one specific image in your post, allow it to work on any image in your post, or set a custom image for when someone saves your post. You can make the button small or large, square or round, and can have it appear in different languages. Configure it the way you like it will generate a preview as you do and then copy and paste the code in your blog post.

Important: Every Pinterest widget requires you to have the generic pinit.js installed on your site. Make sure to add it to your code or template, or else the sub-scripts for these widgets wont work. If thats too much hassle, check out the plugins starting at #7 on this list.

How To Set Up Your Instagram Feed To Publish To A Draft Queue

If you dont want to automatically post all of your Instagram photos, but want an easy way to pick and choose which photos to pin, Tailwind is the way to go.

From the Tailwind dashboard, go to Publisher > Pin from Instagram.

If you didnt connect your Instagram account when you signed up for Tailwind, youll be asked to do so first.

Once your Instagram account connects, all of your Instagram posts will sync to the Pin from Instagram page. You can sort the page based on Most Recent, Most Liked, and Most Commented.

From this page, you can schedule any of your Instagram images to publish to any board or group of boards on Instagram.

After an image is published to at least one board, a green banner appears over your image that says Published. However, your Instagram posts will still be available for you to schedule again if you want.

The only downside to this option is that Tailwind is a premium tool, whereas the IFTTT connectors above are free.

    Why Hide Your Pin Images

    • You will have a MASSIVE vertical image in your blog post

    • You could potentially slow down your loading speed

    • You may think that pins graphics on your blog post mess up the overall look of your blog post
    • You can hide MULTIPLE versions of your pins, and give your viewers a choice

    • Having your own pins on your blog, encourages people to save your Pins

Embedding A Pin Or Board Into A Post Or Page

You can also embed your pin or board directly in a post or page.

There are two ways you can this:

  • Simply embed using the URL
  • 1) Embed Via The Pin Or Board URL

Copy the URL of the pin or board you want to embed from your web browsers address bar.

Go to Posts > Add New or Pages > Add New.

Paste the URL on a line by itself in your post/page editor.

Below is what it looks like embedded when you view your post:

The link must be on its own line without any characters or whitespaces before or after the URL and must not be hyperlinked otherwise it wont embed.

You can tell if a URL is hyperlinked by clicking on the link. If the hyperlink button in the toolbar highlights and a link box with the option to edit appears, like the screenshot below, it means your link is hyperlinked.

Click on Remove Link icon to remove the hyperlink.

    2) Embed A Pin Or Board Into A Page Or Post Using The Widget Builder

This process is very similar to the one described above to embed into the sidebar of your blog.

  • Create a new post or page, or open an existing post/page to edit it.
  • Go to Pinterest and click on the pin or board you want to embed. Copy the URL for that pin or board.
  • Go to the .
  • Click on the box that says Pin, add the pin URL and choose your preferred size OR click on the box that says Board, add the board URL and choose your preferred size.
  • When you preview or publish your post the pin will show up like this:

Why Did My Embedded Pin Disappear

The embed code will disappear. You need to only open it in the text, source, or HTML editor.

If you cant trust yourself to remember, if youre on WordPress:

    • Go to Edit my profile.
    • Set to disable visual editor.

Option 2: the reason the Pin disappears is that its a link code with no content.

    Try this:

Insert a character like | between the pin embed code and the closing tag < /a> .

I tried it on this post and it did save the code, plus I cant see the character in the blog post.

This is genius!!! I just put a dash before the closing tag and it saved it without any issue! Thank you thank you thank you! I can only image reopening that post for a number of reasons and it deleting all that code I would have been so SAD!

So it might work for you too!

Another way embedded Pins disappear is when the original Pinner deletes their Pin. So, save it to your own board and embed that Pin.

    Embedding Boards And Profiles

You can embed any Pinners profile or board including yours!

These update to show their recent Pin saves. All you need is the URL of their profile or board.

Step 1: Go to the board or profile and copy its URL.

Step 2: Go to the and choose Board or Profile at the top.

Step 3: Paste in the URL.

    Step 4: Choose your size.

You have a choice of several shapes and sizes, or you can set your own specifications. My example is header.

    Step 5: Embed the code.

Again, youll just copy the code and paste it into your HTML. Dont forget the script too. All this is explained above under How to embed Pins.

Add A Link To A Pin Board

The simplest and easiest way to use Pinterest on your site is just to link to it. Find a pin board you like and copy the URL, and make it a link, like so.

One thing its worth doing here is going to the Rich Pins Validator and making sure your site has the right meta data added to it to appear with extra profile information on Pinterest. Its a great help on the site, even if you dont actively use it. Others do, and theyll share your posts more if they appear the way they should.

Embedding A Pin Or Board Into A Sidebar Widget

How to Embed Pinterest Feed App on Wix (2021)

This is a simple process but there are a few key tips to take note of as you go along.

    1) Copy Pin or Board URL

The first step for either scenario is to copy the URL of the pin or board you want to display or embed.

Tip: You may want to bookmark the Widget Builder URL .

Once you are on the Widget Builder page, click the Pin button and paste the URL of the pin you want to embed into the Pin URL field.

Alternatively, you can click on Board and enter the Board URL.

You will then be able to select the size of your pin or board.

If you are embedding a single pin, your size choices are small, medium and large. Small is usually best for a sidebar widget. You can also choose whether you want the pin description to show up underneath the pin image by ticking the box.

If you are embedding a board, your size choices are square, sidebar, header or create your own.

You can check out the preview as you make your selections.

Underneath your preview you will be provided with some embed codes that you will need to copy.

    Important: There Are Two Codes

You will notice you are given two lines of code as above.

When embedding a pin or board, you need to copy and paste the first line of code THEN copy the second code and paste it right underneath the first code, on a new line.

It will look like this when you put the two codes together.

Exceptions: When You Dont Need The Second Code

    3) Embed Your Pin/Board Into A Sidebar Widget

To do that, go to Appearance > Widgets in your blog dashboard.
