Using The Tools You Have
With few formatting options available in LinkedIn, it is important to use the tools you do have to present yourself professionally. Don’t try to use substitute formatting techniques to make up for these limitations. For example, if you would normally use bold text to highlight an important word or phrase, typing those words in uppercase letters or using asterisks to frame them, does little to make your profile look professional. Instead, use short, concise sentences, bullets, lists and proper punctuation to convey yourself to those reading your profile.
How To Use Bullet Points In Your Profile
As you may have noticed already, there is no special bullet button within LinkedIn options. More than that, you wont be able to italicize, bold or underline the text either. In other words, your profile is meant to be pure dull text without any formatting. But adding some structure and separating important sections can add a professional touch to the whole picture.
There are several options for you to add bullet points to your profile. You may also use LinkedIn bullet points for job descriptions. First of all, you can copy and paste bullets from Word Doc or another document.
As an alternative option, you can hold down the Alt key and type 0149. Then release the Alt key, and a new bullet will appear. Try the copy-and-paste method if you want to add some other symbols that dont occur on the keyboard.
To sum it up, remember to add visual appeal to your profile to make it stand out and get the recruiters attention.

Emoji are small, colorful icons that are typically used to express ideas and emotions. If you are viewing your LinkedIn profile on a PC, the symbols in your headline may appear black. Include A Call To Action At The End
This is something most job seekers dont do, yet is highly effective.
Did you know that simply asking someone to do something increases the chances theyll do it?
So at the end of your summary, ASK them to contact you if they think your background will fit an opportunity they have.
You might say:
If any of the above sounds interesting and you think it would be a potential fit to work together, send me an invitation to connect and lets talk!

How To Add Bullets On Your Linkedin Profile
You may have seen bullet points on other peoples’ LinkedIn profiles and wondered how they made them. It’s actually incredibly simple. But before I share instructions, I want to issue a warning that is particularly relevant if you are a job-seeker.
Recruiters don’t want to see a bunch of suns, smiley faces and wingdings on your profile. I ask you to use your new knowledge responsibly. My preference, as a former recruiter who has looked at a ridiculous number of LinkedIn profiles, is that you only use this method for bullet points, and only select the traditional/round/filled bullets.
Alright. Let’s get to making some bullets. It’s most likely that you will be adding bullets to the positions in your experience section, but this method will work in other sections as well. First, you need to get into edit mode by clicking this little guy at the top of the section.
In the experience section, you’ll see your position and the descriptions you have written for each of them. In that description box, click your curser in where you want to add the bullet point.
On a Windows machine:
Hold down the alt key and hit the number 7 on the keypad, or hold down the alt key and type 0149 and the bullet will appear when you release.
On a Mac:

How Long To Make Your Linkedin Work Descriptions For Each Job
It doesnt. Theres no golden rule here. Some people will read more content if you put it. But heres the thing the goal of your LinkedIn isnt to get them to read every word. Its to make them reply and invite you to interview, right?
They might still have some questions and want to know more after reading your LinkedIn, but theyll see enough that they want to talk. And thats the goal. Theyll find out the rest by asking you questions in the interview.
And keeping things brief will force you to focus on narrowing down your bullets and accomplishments to just the most impressive.
If I told you to include 10 bullets per job, you wouldnt be as selective and wouldnt write great bullet points. But if you limit it to 3-4 bullets per job like Im suggesting, your LinkedIn profile will have nothing but awesome bullets.
Taking the time to trim the fat and put only your best highlights on LinkedIn is going to make you stand out while also making your profile more attractive to read/skim, which is what you want as a job seeker.

3. Open up your LinkedIn profile and click Edit.
