What Is The Daily Gmail Email Limit For Sending Mass Emails

Gmail officially claims that with a regular Gmail account you can send 500 emails/day. And with paid services like G suite or Office 365, you can send over 2,000 emails/day. However, there is a small difference between Gmail and G suite account. Lets understand it one by one.

1) Gmail Account

Messages/Recipients per day 500

With the Gmail account, you will get 500 limit either emails or recipients. For example, you can send 1 email to 500 recipients or 10 emails to 50 recipients each.

2) G suite work user

Messages per day 2000

Recipients per day 10000

G suite work accounts are basically used for business purposes where Individual email addresses are considered in every mail sent 10 emails sent to 20 addresses count as 200 recipients. So if you send 2000 individual emails to individual 2000 recipients then you cant send a further email to the remaining 8000 recipients because you have reached messages limit which is 2000. So in extreme cases, you can send 1 email to 5 recipients including CC and BCC to cover all 2000 message limits and 10000 recipients limit.

Beware of Account Suspension!

Note that, if the Gmail email sending limit is surpassed in any way, then your Gmail account may get temporarily suspended with the error.

We recommend that you do not cross your Gmail email sending limits as it may hamper your domain reputation and decrease your email deliverability.

Outlooks instant messaging feature is Skype which also doubles as its video and voice call feature. Skype has powerful end-to-end encryption. This means that Microsoft or anyone cant see your message.

Plus, Skype has a more modern design Google chat cant beat. Its a lot easier on the eyes than the latter. Its clear to see that the two features get the job done.

Winner: Outlook barely wins this one

People Can See Its A Mass Email

One of the biggest downsides is that you have to make sure to blind carbon copy your contacts, otherwise they will know right away that you sent a mass email. In the early days of the internet, it was a common experience to receive a mass email that listed all the other recipients at the top. Today, doing that is a serious mistake.

An email address is considered private information. People have to opt in to receive emails from businesses. Thats why theres such a huge industry around creating incentives for internet searchers to opt-in, like free videos, educational content, or PDFs.

If you send a mass email and then forget to Bcc the contacts, you are essentially giving out private information to the other recipients. Now, anyone on that list can go and email anyone else. You dont want to be responsible for that. Also, dont mix Cc and Bcc contacts for a mass email. The Bcc contacts can still see the emails in the Cc field.

Be aware that some spam filters might mark your email as spam if you Bcc recipients. Its also possible your recipients could mark the email as spam after they receive it.

You Dont Know Who Has Opened Your Mail

Another one of the downsides of using Gmail alone for mass emails or email marketing is that you dont have any data telling you who opened and read your email. If you just want to send a newsletter, that might be fine. And you might not need to know whos read your email about the funniest memes youve found during the month, either.

But if you want any kind of insight after sending bulk emails, youll have to look outside Gmail. All you get from sending a bulk email in Gmail is a single outgoing message, its not even split up into individual messages. Of course, your Gmail account isnt designed to provide much data on its own.

Fortunately, its easy to install an extension to get more out of sending mass emails, thanks to Mailtrack Lists and Mailtrack Campaigns.

How Many Emails Are Sent A Year

    Gmail Vs Outlook: Search

Create a mail merge using Gmail and Google Sheets

Google is the king of search. It controls 90% of the search engine market. So it can make sense to say that Gmail has similar genes in its in-built search function.

With a basic search, you should be able to extract whatever youre looking for in seconds. Furthermore, Gmail users can take advantage of a wide array of advanced techniques by typing in shortcuts.

Microsofts Outlook has similar search functionalities. It also has advanced techniques for finding the data youre looking for quickly.

For example, the quick view folders allow you to search through your messages. However, we can all agree that the search feature on Outlook doesnt stack up with Gmail due to its sophistication.

    Winner: Gmail

There are many things you need to take into consideration when choosing an email service, from storage to attachment limits.

Its pretty apparent though, that if you want to stay on top of your emails in 2021, you have to choose Gmail .

Lock Down Your Gmail Or Choose A Privacy

4 Ways to Switch from AOL to Gmail

The other problem with Gmail and services like it, according to privacy advocates, is a lack of end-to-end encryption. This gold-standard level of security protection, used by secure messaging apps such as Signal and WhatsApp as well as email services including ProtonMail and Hushmail, means no one can access the content of your emails, even the provider. It also gives you the reassurance that the email service cant sell your data to advertisers.

But this level of security and privacy often comes at the expense of the functionality people are accustomed to in Gmail, such as integration with apps including Google Calendar.

Yet some experts question whether end-to-end encryption is necessary for email, when apps such as WhatsApp and Signal can be used for private and convenient communication. And as Callas says: The ProtonMail service is encrypted, but for this to be effective, both parties need to be using some form of encrypted email.

So, do you need to ditch Gmail? If much of the above sounds messy and leaky, you could consider a provider such as ProtonMail to email others using a similarly protected service, or Signal, which ensures the communication is end-to-end encrypted on both sides.

If you have an iPhone, its possible to lock down Gmail even further by avoiding Googles app and sticking to Apples own Mail client, or by opening your email via the Safari browser.
