How Do I Look At My Pins On Pinterest

Don't Miss

Saving Pins To A Board

Search for Your Pinterest Pins
  • 1Search for a Pin. Enter what you’re looking for into the search bar and peruse the results.
  • If you’re using a phone or tablet, tap the magnifying glass at the bottom to bring up the search bar.
  • 2 This brings up more information about the Pin.
  • 3Click or tap Save on the Pin. If you’ve created boards in the past, you’ll see a list of those boards here. If it’s your first time saving a Pin , you can create a new board.
  • 4Click or tap Create board. It’s at the bottom of the list. This opens the Create board form, where you’ll enter some basic information.
  • 5Fill out your board’s basic information. Enter a board title that’s reflective of the sort of content you’ll be saving to this board. For example, if you’re saving a haircut idea, you could use something like Curly Haircuts or Hair Ideas. If you’re using a phone or tablet, you also have some optional decisions to make now:
  • If you don’t want anyone to see your board, you can toggle the “Secret” switch to the On position.
  • If you want to collaborate on the board with someone else, tap the button under “Collaborators” to choose someone.
  • 6Click Create or tap Next. If you’re using the mobile app, you may have to tap Next will bring up some other topics related to your board that you can add if you wish. If you’re not interested, tap Skip and your board will be created. Now that you’ve created a board, it’ll appear as an option when you’re pinning things in the future.
  • Tap or click the profile icon and select Boards.
  • Hide Your Profile From Search Engines

The default setting allows search engines such as Google to find your Pinterest content and display it in their search results. You can change this setting from your profile page by clicking on the Settings link . The first part of the page is Account Basics. Change the Search Privacy toggle from No to Yes. You may get a prompt that Itll take several weeks for search engines to remove your profile from search results. You can speed up the process with Google using their online tool.

    Accompanying Title And/or Descriptive Picture

Instead, choose an image that reflects the link’s contents. If you’re struggling to convey an abstract concept, feel free to add text to your image to describe it. The above example didn’t need that — the icons themselves conveyed what was behind the link: free downloadable icons. If you want an example of a great pin with text on it, check the one out below. Without the title on the image, the pin wouldn’t nearly be as strong — people would have no idea that this was an ebook they could download.

Moral of the story here: make sure that people know what’s inside the pin so they feel enticed to click. If you feel like the image isn’t pulling its weight on its own, add text. That little bit of text could make the difference between someone clicking on your pin or not.

    Your Board Should Be Embedded

Simple enough. One issue that you might run into is after you past the embed code into the Text tab of WordPress, and go back to the Visual tab, your Pins or Boards might not show up. Im not 100% sure why this happens, but it does. In that case, just paste the embed code back into your post, and publish your post/page from there and dont switch back to the Visual tab.

Embedding pins and boards into your content is a great way to add visuals to your site and integrate social media into blog posts or pages.

One way that I integrated embedded Pinterest boards into an article that will be published on another site soon, is by doing a post. I embedded all of the boards into the article, so people will be able to see whats on them and follow them with ease. Once the post goes live, Im going to reach out to the people who own the Pinterest boards I listed to let them know about my piece, and hopefully theyll share it with their audience. Feel free to steal my idea!

The New Pin Stats Are Only Visible To The Pin Owner But Theres A Trick For That Too

Not having that information anymore can make it difficult to gauge how your pins are doing compared to others in your niche. I had someone ask me this question recently, I did a little digging and am happy to report that Tailwind solves this problem too!

You can see repin data on other peoples pins by joining Tailwind Tribes which is available through powerups. If you go to a Tribe that youre a member of you will see all of the pins that other Tribe members have pinned.

This can help you get new ideas for all that fresh content, see repins for popular pins, research what high performing pins look like, or just compare and contrast other pins to your own! Its a handy tool and Im so glad someone asked me about it.

    Happy Pinning everyone!

You Can Make Those Pin It Buttons That Pop Up All The Time Disappear

If you’re using Chrome, the Pin It button you can add to the browser also causes little buttons that scream “pin me! pin me!” to appear when your mouse hovers over a photo. Sure, they’re handy, but can also be distracting as you scroll down a page. Get rid of them by right-clicking the Pin It button, selecting Options, and then checking “Hide hovering Pin it buttons,” to say bye-bye to these flittering little guys.

There is one caveat: Some savvy websites and blogs might have installed their own “pin this!” buttons, which you won’t be able to banish.

    The Benefits Of Rich Pins

Rich pins help improve your potential readers experience with your pins. They tell pinners what your article, recipe, or product is about. Think of rich Pins as ad copy for your post. The primary goal of rich Pins should be to make pinners care about your page and earn their click.

If you have a recipe pin that lists ingredients, all the ingredients, time spent on the recipe and the other recipe data will be searchable. This is great for the 5 pm cook who is looking for a quick and easy recipe. Or the gourmet cooks interested in fancy ingredients.

I know there is some debate in the food blogger world about turning Rich Pins off to increase page views. Im not a fan of this for a few reasons. One, if Im a pinner deciding on your recipe I want to be able to see the ingredients before I click over. Once I know I have the ingredients on hand, I will click over to your site and follow the directions.

    I digress

For product pins, this allows you to list the price, description of the product and more attributes your future buyer needs to know before purchase. Another great benefit is if you update the price on the listing, all pins will update as well.

Unlike comment descriptions, the information added to Rich Pins stays from Pin to Repin. If you update the post title or meta description, ALL the Pins will update too.

Rich Pins are beneficial for bloggers and site owners in any industry. Lets get them for your site!

Three: Create A Compelling Title And Description For Every Post

Now that you have Rich Pins installed, images saved from your site will show additional information on the pins. Enabling Rich Pins is only half the equation though you need to utilize them! The description that is displayed in your article Rich Pins is controlled by the copy you write for your meta description. If you leave the meta description blank, your Pins will show the first couple of lines of the article.

Take advantage of the description space by adding a compelling description to every post. A simple formula I use is: natural use of keywords + why they should click NOTE: if you use a social sharing plugin, the social media description may be displayed instead of the meta description .

For Recipe Rich pins, make sure to add helpful information to your recipe cards that you think pinners will be searching for. Most recipe plugins have a section to include a short description of the recipe. Remember what I said above: think of the title and the description of your post as ad copy. The primary goal of rich pins should be to make pinners care about your page and earn their click. The title and description should entice your readers to click through or save your Pin.

Good luck with your rich pins!

Make It Easy For Others To Pin Your Content

Your customers or supporters who visit your website and also use Pinterest might want to use Pinterest to bookmark your products, services, blog posts, or other content from your website. Make it easy for them to do so by ensuring that your website and/or store are set up to be used as .

Rich Pins can be used for products, recipes, or articles. Product Rich Pins will include information on pricing, availability, and product information. Recipe Rich Pins include a title, serving size, cook time, ratings, diet preference, and list of ingredients directly within your pin. Article Rich Pins automatically add the headline or title, description, and author.

In the example above, you can see that this Rich Pin example includes the star ratings for the receipt, the ingredients needed, and cook time all within the pin itself. While were here, Id be remiss if I didnt recommend you make this recipe. So good and one of my personal favorites!

Rich Pins are especially helpful for when someone else pins a page from your website. It allows you to have some control over what is being shared and ensures that pins will be up-to-date no matter when, or who, shares them.
